Meet the Sunday School Staff

Linda Day
Director of Christian Education

I have been a part of Sunday School for over 21 years. I started as a Pre-K aide, taught 2nd grade, and then became the Asst. Superintendent for the last 5 years. I am now the Board of Christian Education Chair and look forward to working with Heather and Brian as they head up the Sunday School Program.

Jim and I have been married for 29 years, have a 25-year-old son, Jonathan, and a one-year-old Beagle puppy named Molly.  I enjoy cooking and gardening and my husband and I enjoy watching old movies, listening to old time radio shows, and going to, and participating in, classic car shows.

Rachel Sibick

My name is Mrs. Rachel Sibick.  I will be teaching the third and fourth grade class every other Sunday.  I have been a teacher for seven and a half years in both public and private schools.  Also, I have been a member of Christ Church for nine years.  My husband and I have a seven year old boy and a nine year old girl.  My family and I enjoy participating in church activities to further enrich our Christian Faith.  I look forward to working with your child to learn more about Jesus!

I am a junior at Sandburg HS.  I play the trombone in the marching band, jazz, pep and wind symphony bands.  I also am involved in 4H, helping in the community and having my art, craft and sewing projects in the 4H fairs.  In my spare time I love to cross stitch, and sew all sorts of items like clothes, blankets, stuffed animals like school mascots, and dolls.  I really like to teach and help with the little ones and can’t wait for Sunday School to start!!

Heather Green
Sunday School Superintendent

Hi! My name is Heather (Artmann) Green and I am the Sunday School Superintendent. I am a long-time member of Christ Lutheran, having been confirmed by Pastor Ledogar in 1988. I have a very energetic 8 year old daughter, Daniella (Dani), who is an active member of the Cherub Choir and my official sidekick at church activities.

I am really excited to serve as the Superintendent of Sunday School. I believe part of our responsibilities as Sunday School teachers is to also get children used to attending church and feeling comfortable in the sanctuary. I feel that God has richly blessed me and am looking forward to sharing my faith and helping teach the children to love Jesus and recognize His amazing works in a challenging world.

Diana Voith
3rd - 4th Grade Teacher

My name is Diana M. Voith. I have been teaching Sunday School since 2008 for 3rd and 4th grade students. I became more active with Christ Lutheran after getting married to Robert Voith in 2007. My family is composed of my husband Bob, our 10-year-old daughter Andrea, our two dogs Izzy (2 years old) and Spotty (5 years old). I mainly enjoy learning more about contemplative studies that can help me connect with nature. I am currently working remotely for the Illinois Department of Human Services as a Rehabilitation Counselor and as a Sound Healer Practitioner. During my spare time, I love listening to music, dancing, cooking, baking, playing board games, and spending time on Pinterest to create new ideas to decorate my home.

I truly believe in promoting a good foundation for our children based on religious teachings from an early age. I am a proud member of Christ Lutheran Church who is fully committed to continue to participate in future events our church community offers for our families and guests. I look forward to seeing my previous and new students this 2021-2022 year!

Loretta Schmidt
Pre-K / Pre-S Teacher

I first volunteered to assist special needs children in Sunday School in 2003.  I was an aide for two children and followed them through different grades.  When there was no longer a child for me to assist, I helped out wherever needed through the years eventually ending up in the Pre-K room. In the Fall I will be co-teaching in Pre-K.  I hope to do this work as long as I possibly can because I feel that it is so important for children to learn that God loves them at an early age and that they can pray to him whenever and for whatever reason they are feeling the need for comfort.

Brian Evans
Asst. Superintendent,
5th - 6th Grade Teacher

My family and I have been members of CLC for 12 years now.  My wife Heather is the kindergarten teacher with our 16 yr old daughter Chloe, Cayla is our 14 yr old daughter, our oldest daughter Calli is a sophomore in college, and we have 2 American bulldogs Max & Ruby.

I started out teaching Sunday School with the 5th & 6th graders many years ago, also teaching 7th & 8th grades, 7th grade confirmation class, and my family and I are on the VBS craft crew for many years now.  I am on the Board of Youth, Stewardship committee, and the Holy Smokers.  Some of my hobbies are drawing and doing magic tricks.  This year, I am now the assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, and look forward to bringing great ways to learn about our faith!

Kassy Carioto
Pre K / Pre S Teacher

My name is Kassandra Carioto, but everyone calls me Kassy. I have been a part of Christ Lutheran since I was 3 years old, and it has been a huge part of my life, especially since my mom, Sandy Knopp, is the church’s music director. I was baptized and confirmed at this church. I have been in every music program the church boasts, except for the men’s chorus, of course. Right now, I am only in Joy and Praise. I have been teaching PreK Sunday School for almost 6 years and enjoy teaching the little ones the story of Jesus.
